Job Summary
Manteno School District is seeking applications for an Elementary School Permanent Substitute. The Permanent Substitute position provides consistent instructional coverage to ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences. This individual supports the academic social and behavioral growth of students while maintaining established classroom expectations and routines. The Permanent Substitute works collaboratively with administrators teachers and support staff to uphold a safe positive and productive school environment. This individual will report to the District on all teacher attendance days (180 days). This position requires flexibility professionalism and the ability to adapt to various grade levels and subject areas as assigned.
- Valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License Paraprofessional License with a Bachelors Degree or Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Prior experience working with children in an educational setting
- Ability to travel between District school buildings based on daily staffing needs
- Demonstrate reliability flexibility and professionalism
- Strong classroom management and student supervision skills
- Ability to create connections with students
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Basic proficiency in instructional technology and District systems
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing assignments
- Deliver instructional content and facilitate learning activities based on teacher-provided plans
- Maintain established classroom routines and behavioral expectations
- Supervise students to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment
- Utilize classroom technology and instructional tools appropriately
- Enforce district policies school rules and procedures consistently
- Supervise students in non-classroom settings as assigned (e.g. lunch recess arrival/dismissal)
- Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth transitions and instructional continuity
- Follow emergency protocols and actively participate in safety procedures
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of student family and staff information
- Work collaboratively with co-workers and school staff
- Support students academic social and emotional growth
- Uphold school policies procedures and educational standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration
- Salary: $42831.24
