Job Summary
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a School Nurse/District Lead Nurseto join a dynamic team supporting students at Westford School beginning in the school year. The School Nurse collaborates with teachers administrators families and community partners to promote student health and wellness drawing on experience in pediatric community emergency adult and mental health nursing.
In addition to school-based nursing responsibilities this position serves as the Districts Lead Nurse providing leadership for EWSDs school health program by guiding districtwide health and safety practices mentoring and supporting school nurses coordinating training and consistent protocols collaborating with district leaders and community partners and promoting the health and well-being of students and staff.
This is a temporary one-year position with the opportunity to apply for renewal based on district needs. This position is covered under theteacher collective bargaining agreement and includes a comprehensive benefits package with medical dental life and long-term disability insurance paid sick family and personal leave access to professional development funds and a work schedule that follows the teacher school calendar.
EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state.

Candidates with the following additional qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Hold a valid license as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Vermont.
- Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid Vermont Educators License with a 3-65 school nurse endorsement.
- Experience with supporting students across broad aspects of the schools system of support.
- Experience working with high school students preferred.
- Knowledge of general nursing and school nursing concepts and skills
- Effectively works with others including those with opinions or beliefs different from their own.
