Job Summary

The Arlington Public Schools is seeking a instrumental (Brass) teacher who has experience working with elementary age-children to provide group instrumental music instruction to students in grades 4 and 5 during the regular school day (AM) in the following areas:trumpet trombone horn tuba baritone euphonium.

Requirements: Experience teaching elementary-age children is required.

The successful candidates will demonstrate expertise on their instruments and a strong background in and knowledge of materials methods and the pedagogy associated with their instruments. Experience teaching elementary students in a large group setting is essential. Successful candidates will exhibit dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage elementary-age children and maintain and enhance enthusiastic participation in music making in a safe supportive and student-centered environment.

Bachelors degree in applied music or music education is required.

MA DESE licensure is preferred.

Salary is based on education and experience according to the AEA Unit A Contract and Salary Schedule.
