QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement.
• Knowledge of current trends in curriculum instruction and technology.
• Knowledge/experience withnew state assessment requirements preferred.
• Thorough understanding of cooperative learning groups and techniques.
• Elementary teaching experience preferred.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with teachers parents and students to design personalized learning plans that address each students strengths interests and academic needs.
• Ensure plans align with district guidelines state standards and best practices for highly capable learners.
• Regularly review student work assessments and progress toward goals outlined in their learning plans.
• Adjust goals and strategies as needed to ensure continued growth and challenge.
• Provide resources instructional strategies and enrichment opportunities to help teachers implement the student learning plans.
• Communicate regularly with teachers to evaluate the effectiveness of plans and make adjustments.
• Foster self-advocacy goal setting and reflection skills to empower students in managing their own learning.
• Serve as the point of contact between parents teachers and administrators regarding student learning plans and progress.
• Identify and recommend enrichment activities competitions or independent projects that support the students areas of strength and interest.
• Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of student learning plans.
• Provide reports and updates to administration teachers and parents as required.
• Stay current on best practices in gifted education and differentiation strategies.
• Share knowledge and strategies with colleagues to support highly capable learners across the school.
• Ensure that all students identified as highly capable have equitable access to opportunities.
• Advocate for students needs within the school community.
