Job Summary
Position Title: Anticipated Opening - Elementary Classroom Teacher (12 weeks)
Position:
Long-Term Substitute Teacher Primary Level (12-Week Assignment)
Position Overview:
The Long-Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing full-time classroom instruction and maintaining a positive engaging learning environment for students during a 12-week assignment. The substitute teacher will assume the responsibilities of the classroom teacher including planning and delivering instruction assessing student progress managing classroom routines and collaborating with school staff and families.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily instruction aligned with district curriculum and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Maintain a structured safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes student learning and positive behavior.
- Implement lesson plans and adapt instruction to meet the diverse academic social and emotional needs of students.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies including small-group instruction and differentiated learning activities.
- Assess student learning through informal and formal methods and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Communicate effectively with students families administrators and colleagues.
- Collaborate with grade-level team members specialists and support staff.
- Attend required staff meetings professional development sessions and school events as appropriate during the assignment.
- Uphold school policies procedures and expectations regarding student supervision confidentiality and professionalism.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; degree in Education preferred.
- Valid teaching MA license/certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred.
- Experience teaching at the elementary/primary level.
- Knowledge of early literacy foundational math skills and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students staff and families.
- Demonstrated flexibility professionalism and reliability.
Terms of Employment:
- Temporary long-term substitute position for approximately 12 weeks.
- Full-time schedule following the school calendar and teacher work hours.
- Compensation based on district long-term substitute pay scale and applicable policies.

Building Principal and/or Assistant Principal
