Electronics Technician II
Job Summary
The University of Iowa is excited to announce an opening for an Electronics Technician II within Campus Safetys Key & Access Services this pivotal role youll have the opportunity to design build modify and maintain complex electronic equipment that supports instruction groundbreaking research medical patient care and vital university programs. Your expertise will directly contribute to a safer more innovative campus environment allowing you to work on projects that truly matter.
Duties to Include:
Diagnoses problems performs repair and other forms of maintenance of complex electronic equipment and instruments such as oscilloscopes meters generators counters analog computers and specialized instrumentation equipment.
Calibrates and adjusts electronic equipment to ensure optimum performance.
Directs trains and assists other employees in related electronics work as required
Recommends purchase of new equipment and instructs operators in the use and implementation of equipment

Location: University Capitol Centre and University of Iowa Campus
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a two-year resident electronic school and three years of experience in electronics construction and repair work or
Any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of a valid drivers license and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.
Desired Qualifications:
NICET certification
State Alarm Installers License (Iowa)
Effective communication skills
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
