Summary: The Electro-Mechanical Automation Technician II is responsible for performing routine maintenance troubleshooting and basic repairs on automated production equipment robotics and industrial control systems. This role supports facility uptime by diagnosing standard electrical and mechanical faults on CNC machinery robotic cells and conveyor networks under the guidance of the maintenance supervisor.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in electrical electronic mechanical or maintenance engineering technology preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in industrial electro-mechanical maintenance within an advanced manufacturing environment.
- Basic experience troubleshooting robotics CNC equipment or PLCs.
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operation experience required (certification required onsite).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of robotic operations and utilization of teach-pendants for minor adjustments.
- Familiarity with CNC machine components including servo drives linear guides and industrial controllers.
- Ability to connect to PLCs to monitor and trace ladder logic for basic I/O fault isolation (no programming required).
- Competency in standard industrial electricity (up to 480V 3-phase) mechanical assemblies and fluid power (pneumatics/hydraulics).
- Ability to use a digital Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work and track parts.
- Solid time management and problem-solving skills to handle fast-paced production demands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs standard preventative maintenance on paint and welding robots including cleaning minor calibrations and replacing consumable parts.
- Diagnoses and repairs routine mechanical breakdowns and electronic drive faults on multi-axis CNC machines and overhead conveyor lines.
- Connects via laptop interfaces to PLCs to monitor standard field device signals like limit switches proximity sensors and photo-eyes.
- Assists senior technicians with the installation positioning assembly and commissioning of new manufacturing machinery.
- Performs general plant facility maintenance including basic HVAC care (belts/filters) industrial plumbing and utility drops (compressed air water gas and 3-phase electrical lines).
- Replaces worn parts and executes minor mechanical repairs for production line machinery and facility support equipment.
- Performs basic inspection and scheduled servicing of plant air compressors monitoring rotary screw and piston performance to report anomalies and execute standard pre-approved mechanical repairs.
- Logs repair metrics parts usage and work orders accurately within the CMMS.
- Follows established maintenance and quality protocols to maximize machine uptime and reduce downtime.
- Adheres strictly to company safety programs including NFPA 70E Arc Flash safety Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) robot safety interlocks and light curtains.
- Maintains stellar attendance works scheduled or unscheduled overtime as production demands dictate and fulfills all other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $35.50 - $35.50per hour with a10% Shift Differential
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
