The Electrical Utility will support the Maintenance and Operational teams while developing electrical capabilities and process knowledge. This role includes contributing to improvements in safety cost and reliability through preventive predictive and continuous improvement projects. While supporting daily operations the individual will train to perform the duties of a Shift Electrician and provide coverage as needed. The Electrical Utility is expected to demonstrate leadership through the Maintenance Strategy:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Must be willing/able to cover shifts be called in on short notice and work overtime as required/needed
- 2 years of Industrial Commercial or heavy Electrical background
- 4-year degree from college technical school or other educational program with an emphasis in Industrial Maintenance Industrial Electricity or similar field that demonstrates the commitment and desire for personal growth and development.
- Experience with PLCs: Allen Bradley Control Logix Emerson and Wonderware
- Equipment upgrade installation and commissioning experience
- Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Calibrate instrumentation using calibration tools and equipment
- Process control instrumentation working with transmitters valves and other electrical components
- Understanding of and compliance with codes and OSHA regulations including arc flash LOTO fall protection hot work job hazard analysis etc.
