IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Urbandale IA to work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. This entry-level role offers hands-on design analysis and project execution experience with mentorship training and opportunities to grow yourexpertisefrom day one.
Primary responsibilities include assisting in engineering analysis design and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while supporting project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will support work across commercial and institutional markets advancing high-performance energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What Youll Do
Assistin the design and analysis of electrical systems using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs specifications and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
Interact with clients to understand their needs gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively while building andmaintainingclient relationships through professional communication
Support the execution of consulting projects byassistingwith project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives
Assistwith documenting design decisions and instructions from clients whilemonitoringproject design progress
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards industrystandardsand client requirements
Stay up to date with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering and contribute to research development and innovation efforts within IMEG
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work andidentifyand mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including other engineers architects and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
Work within the projects monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
What Youll Bring
Education
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of design techniques tools and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory electromagnetism power systems and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI Elum Tools Visual Lighting or other; energy compliance software such asComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (Building Information Model) software
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred
