What Youll Do
Authorize and direct work during High Voltage Switching Operations
Responsible for the Safety of High Voltage Craft workers
Responsible for the Safety of the Electrical Distribution of the Plant Wind Farm and the John C. Drummond Center (JCDC)
Responsible for meeting the safety environmental and reliability requirements for high-voltage or electrical distribution systems
Responsible for requesting corrective actions via request for corrective preventive operational and modification/betterment work/maintenance work requests
Submits requests for engineering services in support of system/facility compliance operability and reliability of high-voltage or electrical distribution systems. Coordinates functional resources as necessary to ensure the timely and effective completion of request work
Provides support for facility issues related to utility services
Develops and maintains control over operational diagrams and data sheets or high-voltage or electrical distribution systems
Authorize all work/maintenance/operations package affecting high-voltage or electrical distribution systems
Develops and/or validates system/facility alignment procedures and shutdown request in support of high-voltage or electrical distribution systems/facility compliance operability and reliability
Responsible for the National Electric Code (NEC) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA70 E) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements are met for utility operations
Responsible for developing and maintaining both long- and short-range plans for high-voltage or electrical distribution systems utility systems. Perform special assignments and activities as directed by the Department/Section Manager
Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) qualifications for contracts for Utilities of the Electrical Distribution System

- Having the authority to formulate affect interpret or implement management policies or operating practices
- Carrying out major assignments related to the operation to the Companys business
- Work that affects business operations of the Company to a major degree and having the authority to commit the Company in matters having significant financial impact
- Independent judgement and discretion involves the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and having the authority to make an independent choice free from immediate direction with respect to matters of significance
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years)
- OR Masters Degree with: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years)
- NOTE: Applicants without a Bachelors Degree may be considered based on a combination of 12 or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience

Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in the Electrical Field with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Or Journeyman Electrician License with 12 years experience
- Knowledge of High Voltage Electrical Distribution Systems
- Specific knowledge of the safe and effective operations of Electrical Distribution Systems medium voltage; knowledge of safety environmental and reliability requirements for the assigned system(s) or activities; knowledge of NEC NFPA70 E Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
- Ability to request corrective actions for corrective preventive operational and modification/betterment work/maintenance work requests; ability to coordinate functional resources as necessary to ensure the timely and effective completion of requested work; ability to develop and maintain control over operational diagrams and data sheets ability to develop and/or validate system/facility alignment procedures and shutdown requests in support of system/facility compliance operability and reliability; ability to plan maintain verify and change system/equipment alignments; ability develop and maintain both long and short range plans for utility systems; and ability to prepare and execute complex lockout/tag-out plans
