Electrical Distribution Design Engineer II

We are seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric distribution utility projects including overhead and underground distribution system design service extensions system improvements and reliability/storm hardening initiatives. This role involves performing engineering calculations developing construction-ready design packages coordinating with utility clients and field teams and ensuring compliance with utility standards NESC and applicable regulations

Responsibilities:

• Apply technical engineering knowledge to develop high-quality designs that meet project specifications client requirements and industry standards.
• Communicate project challenges related to scope schedule cost and quality to project teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to develop complete engineering design packages.
• Utilize CAD software and engineering analysis tools to support electric distribution design projects.
• Prepare simple to moderately complex engineering designs including calculations construction drawings and supporting documentation.
• Lead discipline-specific design efforts on smaller projects while supporting more complex engineering initiatives and technical analyses.
• Interact with clients on a limited basis to support project coordination and execution.
• Interpret and apply applicable industry codes standards regulations and company procedures.
• Communicate professionally clearly and in a timely manner with clients project managers and internal teams.
• Identify and communicate project information to clients and stakeholders through project managers and team leads.
• Perform thorough self-reviews prior to submitting work participate in peer and quality control reviews and deliver accurate high-quality engineering packages with minimal revisions.
• Be open to field visits as needed to support engineering designs perform site assessments collect field data and validate project requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university
• 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience
• Knowledge of the software BOUD and Maximo
• Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to travel to project sites as needed.
• Client Facing Experience / construction support.
