Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (PE / EIT)
Client: Maverick Power
Location: Plano TX or Phoenix AZ (Hybrid)
Rate: $65/hr on W2.
Duration: 6 month to hire.
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens only
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join Maverick Power in either Plano TX or Phoenix AZ. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience designing utility industrial or mission-critical power distribution systems particularly for data center environments. The selected candidate will lead electrical system design equipment specification protection coordination and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 4 years of experience in utility industrial or mission-critical power distribution design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT actively pursuing PE certification.
- Experience designing Medium Voltage (5kV 35kV) power distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical (SolidWorks Electrical is a plus).
- Experience with data center power architectures (2N N1 distributed redundancy etc.).
- Experience performing or supporting short circuit coordination and arc-flash studies.
- Working knowledge of:
- NEC (NFPA 70)
- NFPA 70E
- IEEE C37 Series
- IEEE 1584
- UL Switchgear/Switchboard Standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with arc-resistant MV switchgear.
- Utility interconnection experience.
- Experience with emergency power systems (NFPA 110).
- Knowledge of UL 9540 Energy Storage Systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning and field troubleshooting.
