Electrical Controls Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our engineering this role you will help design build and support automated systems used across our pharmacy network. You will work on a variety of projects including equipment upgrades system improvements and new facility implementations. The ideal candidate has strong controls engineering experience excellent troubleshooting skills and enjoys taking projects from design through startup and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or support automation projects from planning through startup and commissioning.
- Design electrical control systems and select components that meet industry standards and business needs.
- Review and guide the development of electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
- Oversee control panel fabrication to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Develop program and implement PLC and HMI solutions.
- Configure and program variable frequency drives (VFDs) servo motion systems and other industrial control devices.
- Perform system testing simulations and validation activities.
- Commission and start up automation equipment at pharmacy and operational sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical controls programming and system integration issues.
- Partner with engineers technicians vendors and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes reliability and system performance.
- Provide hands-on support during equipment installation startup and troubleshooting activities.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
- At least 4 years of experience with:
- PLC programming
- Electrical schematic design and review
- HMI development
- VFD configuration and setup
- I/O configuration and field commissioning
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk SE and ME.
- Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs PowerFlex VFDs Kinetix motion systems or similar technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work in hands-on engineering environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Travel Requirements:
- Valid drivers license required.
- Ability to travel up to 30% annually including overnight travel as needed.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys designing programming troubleshooting and commissioning automated systems while working on projects that improve operational efficiency and support pharmacy operations.
