The Stratospheric ISR business unit within Ondas Sentinel is focused on one of the most unique mission areas in aerospace and defense: manufacturing andoperatinghigh-altitude stratospheric balloon systems. Few companies in the world can do this workat operationalscale. That means our teams arenot simplymaintainingexisting systems; they are building new capabilities solving first-of-their-kind challenges and helping define what persistent.
The Avionics Technicianis responsible forbuilding inspecting andmaintainingcomplex electrical and avionics systems that enable aerospace vehicles and payloads to function reliably. This role involves hands-on electronics assembly system troubleshooting inspections and close collaboration with engineering teams to support development integration and launch operations.
Responsible for building and inspectingcomplexelectrical systems that allow the craft tofunction.
Assemble and install electrical components whilemaintainingdetailed andaccuratewritten documentation.
Maintain and improve existing avionics systems through modifications upgrades and bug fixes.
Support engineers with instrument development troubleshooting testing and project execution.
Provide technical support for payload integration activities and launch operations as needed.
Perform inspections on work completed by other technicians using documented procedures specifications drawings and engineering instructions.
Follow standard manufacturing and quality processes including engineering evaluation/change requests and use of standard manufacturing data systems.
Ensure compliance with safety quality and workmanship standards throughout all phases of work.
3-5 years as an Avionics Technician or related experience; technician experience on aerospace vehiclesis stronglypreferred.
Associate 2-yeardegree in electronics or related field is orequivalent trainingobtainedthroughmilitaryservice.
Demonstrated ability to independently perform electronics assembly tasks wire harnessing including soldering crimping coating and circuit testing
Proficiencyin soldering techniques including solder cups surface-mount PDBs and wire splicing.
Familiarity with IPC standards is a plus.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with engineers technicians and other stakeholders.
