Job Description
The Elections Associate performs a variety of technical and operational duties in support of the administration of elections. This position utilizes Microsoft Office 365 applications including Excel Word and PowerPoint to maintain records analyze and organize information prepare reports and support daily operations. The Elections Associate applies fundamental knowledge of election systems to assist with election-related processes provides basic technical and IT support to staff and election operations and performs inventory management activities to ensure election equipment supplies and materials are properly tracked maintained and available for use.

Essential Duties
  • Providing technical assistance and support to staff with online computer systems software applications and related technology.
  • Managing Elections mobile devices laptops and related equipment including maintaining accurate records and ensuring devices are properly configured and available for use.
  • Providing application support troubleshooting technical issues and assisting staff with resolving problems related to Elections-specific applications and systems.
  • Assisting the IT Associate IV with developing implementing and maintaining internal procedures and work instructions for computerized voting systems.
  • Providing technical support through the departments ticketing system including documenting tracking troubleshooting and resolving assigned requests.
  • Implementing and providing training to users on applications and systems specific to voter registration and election administration.
  • Supervising temporary staff by prioritizing and assigning work providing training and guidance monitoring work performance and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assisting the IT Associate IV with employee onboarding and offboarding activities including coordinating system access equipment assignments and the collection or deactivation of technology resources.
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position is B211 and B231. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Elections Associate I - B211 - $40101.00 - $46117.00
  • High School Diploma or GED. OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential voter registration general elections or elections supplies duties will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Elections Associate II - B231 - $47424.00 - $54538.00
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of elections experience related to providing administrative support tracking time and attendance performing payroll functions and facilitating onboarding activities. OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Experience providing IT support
