Position DetailsThe Assessor / Clerk-Recorder / Elections (ACE) Departmentis recruiting a team of people with commitment dedication and diverse skill-sets to ensure all eligible Yolo County voters have an opportunity to cast a ballot.Under close supervision an Elections Aide performs routine clerical and manual work in support of Yolo County election activities.Employees in this positionfacilitate the voting process in a variety of ways before during and after an election ultimately focused on maintaining the integrity of free and fair elections in Yolo County. - Eligible Lists & Hiring: Applicants who demonstrate the minimum qualifications for this advertised extra help position will be added to an eligible addition to filling the advertised Elections Aide - extra help vacancy(ies) this list will be utilized to fill other Elections Aide - extra help vacancies as they occur. Candidates will remain on the eligible list until they are considered or until the list expires after six (6) months. When there is an open position the hiring department will directly contact candidates referred from eligible lists.

- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following are typical duties performed by most employees in the Elections Aide class; however employees may also perform other related duties. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual employed in the classification.
Sorts counts files and reviews and proofs Affidavits of Registration absentee voter applications and ballots.
Prepares and boxes election materials supplies and petitions for transportation mailing and storage.
Inventories election materials in the Elections Division and at other warehouse facilities.
Prepares packs unpacks and may deliver election materials to polling places and elections officers.
Verifies signatures on petitions and returned absentee ballots.
Sorts and files cancelled Affidavits of Registration.
Performs occasional data entry of other simple keyboard operations.
Proofs various election materials for accuracy and screens telephone calls and provides information where possible.
Prepares and labels sample ballots pamphlets and state ballot pamphlets for mailing which includes bagging and lifting up to fifty pounds of election materials in mail cages and transports cages to the post office.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Information submitted in online applications must demonstrate meeting or exceeding the minimum qualifications required for the position. The minimum qualifications required for an applicant to proceed in the selection process are as follows:
Experience: One (1) year of clerical experience.
Substitution: One (1) year of full time business or college education beyond the high school level may be substituted for the required experience. Verification of education is required for substitution.
