- Plan and deliver engaging standards-based English Language Arts instruction aligned with district curriculum and Kansas College and Career Ready Standards.
- Teach reading writing speaking listening language and vocabulary skills using research-based instructional practices.
- Foster critical thinking through literature analysis informational text writing discussion and inquiry-based learning.
- Create a safe positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic social emotional and developmental needs of all learners.
- Utilize instructional technology to enhance student learning and communication.
- Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.
- Maintain accurate student records grades attendance and required documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams interventionists special education staff instructional coaches and administrators to support student success.
- Foster positive relationships with students families and colleagues while promoting a culture of respect responsibility and high expectations.
- Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times.
- Participate in faculty meetings Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) professional development and school improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Kansas Teaching License.
- Demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum assessment and instructional practices.
- Excellent communication collaboration organization and leadership skills.
- Bachelorsdegree in Education or related field.
- Experience as a teacher leader or instructional coach.
- Knowledge of the Literacy First Framework.
- Experience facilitating professional development.
- Experience using student achievement data to improve instruction.
- ESOL Endorsement preferred ($500 annual stipend for Kansas ESOL licensed employees).
