EHS Technician
Job Summary
Job Summary: The EHS Material Handler is responsible for the safe transporting organizing and staging materials and components required for the safety of production in a heavy industrial environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow ensuring accurate inventory and upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load unload move and stage raw materials work-in-process and finished goods using forklifts pallet jacks cranes and other heavy equipment.
- Deliver materials to production lines in a timely and accurate manner based on production schedules and work orders.
- Verify incoming and outgoing materials against documentation (packing slips work orders inventory lists) to ensure accuracy.
- Support inventory control by accurately labeling counting and recording materials in designated systems.
- Collect and track data for outgoing waste products coordinate waste pickup verify proper labeling is on every outgoing container and match it to paperwork.
- Assist in tracking shortages damaged items and inventory discrepancies and report them to the supervisor or materials coordinator.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas production staging zones and warehouse spaces.
- Follow all safety guidelines including PPE requirements Lockout/Tagout procedures and equipment operation standards.
- Participate in loading and unloading trucks and securing loads as needed.
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives related to material flow and workspace organization.
- Communicate effectively with production teams supervisors and logistics staff to ensure material and safety equipment needs are met proactively.
- Maintain clean and inspect safety stations including but not limited to fire extinguishers eye wash stations and first aid kits as well as coordinate refill of such items.
- Provide first Aid and clean up job site after an injury should one occur.
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be computer literate and able to easily learn ERP systems.
- Experience in Manufacturing Industry.
Preferred
- Technical training or certification in safety.
