Job Summary

Job Description Summary
Roles will typically be in shared service; may support multiple businesses but not necessary. Subject matter experts will generally fall into this category. Typically HQ Jobs and NOT on site. For client facing roles use Operational EHS family. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Individuals with expertise in a specific area such as industrial hygiene injury & illness ergonomics electrical safety process safety management etc. and/or providing general health & safety advice and support for multiple sites or a region. Note: Individuals located a specific site who support only that site should be classified as Operational Fixed Facilities even if they have a specific area of expertise unless they also support multiple sites or service operations. May include individuals supporting services projects and construction.*
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information asks questions and checks for understanding.


Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Environmental Health & Safety & Health and Safety. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).


Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document plan market and execute programs.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $70200.00 and $105300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
