Job Summary

SUMMARYThe Regional EH&S Manager plans directs promotes and manages safety for the region (covering New Jersey to Virginia). Directs activities to ensure the safety and security of all personnel equipment and property of the company and ensures OSHA and DOT compliance at multiple role will be a change agent driving process and continuous improvement across the regional safety function to ensure process efficiencies and a high standard of service is delivered while furthering employee DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:Assists in the development of measurable safety performance objectives and supports the implementation of safety policies processes procedures and training programs in compliance with local state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and safety training to employees including new hires in order to meet OSHA/DEP/DOT and other regulatory agency workers compensation activities throughout the entirety of the claim process including initial injury intervention injury reporting medical management and injury closely with compensation carrier to manage work related injuries and manage program DOT compliance including working with DOT Compliance Specialist on accident/injury intervention accident reporting and other associated and reports on liability programs in the region in addition to WC and vehicle various safety meetings to discuss safety concerns and suggests to the committee ways to correct any safety concerns that have been corrective measures are implemented in a timely and effective manner. Holds other safety meetings in support of facility accidents or incidents that result in workers compensation claims and recommends appropriate action in order to prevent future safety observations are completed and manages the resulting action log including any corrective actions that are closely with EHS Director to ensure compliance through training documentation of training and to meet DOT DEP EPA and related agencies personal protective equipment and promotes/monitors the use of equipment throughout the monthly building/safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards/safety issues. Works in conjunction with Department Managers to implement corrective and preventive actions for injury safety equipment or ensures the inspection of safety equipment to validate that it works properly (ex. eye wash stations first aid kits and fire extinguishers).On an on-going basis recommends changes in safety program to lower accident frequency or severity and recommends acquisition of new equipment to minimize occupational external testing for the facility and employees (ex. noise evaluations hearing tests biological monitoring etc).Provides accurate and timely reporting and information to various functions. Maintains and updates all safety related records and KPIs as for managing the security of several operating compliance with developed emergency and evacuation external on regulatory visits inspections and events including environmental professional affiliations to be well-informed of new developments andinnovations in terms of safety and other related duties as required and AND SKILLS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing minimum of 5 years relevant Safety experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain environments.A bachelors degree in Industrial Safety Management or related field experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the safety function within this developing and executing safety standards education and training programs and Standard Operating equivalent combination of education experience and training that provides the required knowledge skills and Aid and CPR Certified preferred30-Hour OSHA General IndustryRCRA Hazardous Waste ManagementValid State Drivers License be willing to travel up to 50% of time in and out of state to support regional activities at multiple DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTAbility to lift push or pull up to 25 offer a competitive salary of $110-130k.
