As SHE Manager you will serve as the senior Safety Health and Environmental leader for the Atlas Point site and a key member of the Site Leadership Team. You will provide strategic direction technical leadership and regulatory oversight across all environmental occupational safety and process-safety activities.

This role combines regulatory leadership people leadership and operational influence. Success depends on building a strong safety culture maintaining regulatory excellence and ensuring SHE and process-safety principles are embedded into every operational decision.

What Success Looks Like

SHE Strategy & Regulatory Leadership

• Develop implement and continuously improve SHE management systems that meet regulatory requirements industry best practice and Croda standards.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA DNREC Responsible Care ISO 14001 ISO 45001 and other applicable requirements.

• Serve as the primary site contact for regulators auditors local authorities and external stakeholders.

• Proactively identify regulatory risks and implement pragmatic sustainable compliance solutions.

Process Safety & Operational Risk

• Lead and continuously improve the sites Process Safety Management program including Management of Change Process Hazard Analysis Mechanical Integrity Pre-Startup Safety Reviews and process-safety incident investigations.

• Strengthen site-wide risk assessment hazard identification and incident-prevention programs.

• Lead investigations into significant SHE and process-safety events identify immediate and root causes and ensure sustainable corrective actions.

• Build accountability and ownership for process safety and operational-risk performance across all departments.

Contractor Safety & Emergency Preparedness

• Ensure effective contractor SHE management including qualification onboarding site oversight compliance assurance and performance monitoring.

• Direct site emergency preparedness and response programs including drills emergency planning incident-command capability mutual-aid coordination and emergency-response-team readiness.

• Maintain effective coordination with local responders regulators and community partners for potential site emergencies.

• Ensure the site is prepared to respond effectively to high-consequence safety environmental and operational events.

Leadership Environmental Stewardship & Improvement

• Lead coach and develop the SHE team through clear objectives performance management training development and succession planning.

• Drive environmental-performance improvements through stronger systems controls and operational discipline.

• Integrate SHE requirements into capital planning operational improvements and site-transformation initiatives.

• Influence leaders and employees across the site to consistently achieve high standards of SHE performance.

Experience & Expertise

• Degree in Engineering Environmental Science Occupational Safety Chemistry or related technical discipline.

• 10 years leading Environmental and Safety programs within chemical manufacturing or another complex industrial environment.

• Demonstrated ownership of Process Safety Management programs including MOC PHA Mechanical Integrity PSSR and process-safety incident investigations.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA DNREC Responsible Care ISO 14001 ISO 45001 and related regulatory frameworks.

• Experience overseeing contractor safety-management programs from qualification and onboarding through field oversight and performance monitoring.

• Experience leading site emergency-preparedness and response programs including drills incident command mutual-aid coordination and response-team readiness.

• Demonstrated success interacting with regulators auditors local responders and external stakeholders.

• Experience leading SHE teams and building organizational capability.

Role Scope

The role reports directly to the Site Director leads the SHE functions serves on the Site Leadership Team and acts as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies external stakeholders contractors local responders and regional/global SHE leadership.

The role owns the site PSM program contractor SHE framework and emergency preparedness and response program and may be called upon to support emergency situations outside standard working hours.
