Job Summary
The EHS Leader is responsible for creating implementing and maintaining the Facility EHS strategy ensuring compliance with EHS policies programs procedures and applicable state and federal regulatory standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the site-specific EHS roadmap aligned with global GE Vernova standards. Act as a key advisor to the Plant Leader on all safety-related risks and operational impacts.
- Regulatory & Policy Compliance: Lead all environmental and safety permitting reporting and auditing. Ensure the facility maintains perfect standing with OSHA EPA and state-level Florida environmental agencies.
- Technical expertise: Provide subject matter expertise and guidance across Environmental Health and Safety field.
- Risk Mitigation: Implement robust programs for high-risk activities including but not limited to: lifting/crane operations machine safeguarding forklift/pedestrian segregation and chemical management.
- Culture Development: Champion employee engagement in EHS activities. Lead Stop Work authority initiatives and ensure that near-miss reporting is used as a tool for proactive learning.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Manage site EHS KPIs. Analyze incident trends and audit results to drive Read Across improvements and corrective actions.
- Training & Capability: Oversee the EHS training program for employees and contingent workers ensuring all staff are authorized and competent for their specific tasks. Ensuring training programs are effective.
- Lead projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
- Manage: Sites digital EHS software platforms. (Benchmark Gensuite & Comply works)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in EHS)

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable operational insights.
- Excellent communicator capable of delivering and influencing safety messages that resonate from the executive level to the shop floor.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously from capital safety investments to daily operational audits.
- Resilience and the ability to maintain composure and clarity during incident investigations or high-pressure situations
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside of GE (regulatory agencies).
