Job Summary
Coordinate EH&S compliance systems training programs regulatory records audit evidence and employee communication for a vertically integrated aerospace and defense manufacturing site producing acrylic and glass aircraft transparency products.
Ensure employees supervisors maintenance personnel engineers contractors emergency responders and visitors receive timely role-based EH&S training tied to their actual hazards job assignments regulatory requirements and customer-critical production environments.
Translate Cal/OSHA OSHA EPA CalEPA/CERS Orange County CUPA South Coast AQMD DTSC Water Board fire code and aerospace customer expectations into practical training matrices records compliance calendars document control and audit-ready objective evidence
Job Responsibilities
1. EH&S Training Program Coordination
- Own and maintain the site EH&S training matrix by role department process area chemical exposure equipment permit-required task emergency role contractor type and supervisor responsibility.
- Coordinate onboarding annual refresher new-hazard new-equipment new-process transfer contractor and retraining events required by EH&S programs and regulatory triggers.
- Schedule assign track and report completion for IIPP HazCom/GHS chemical handling PPE respiratory protection hearing conservation LOTO awareness/authorized worker confined space hot work powered industrial trucks ergonomics emergency action spill response hazardous waste HMBP stormwater wastewater air compliance and role-specific training.
- Maintain competency evidence such as quizzes sign-in sheets LMS records practical demonstrations trainer qualifications fit-test records forklift evaluations drill participation and supervisor attestations.
2. Compliance Records Document Control and Audit Evidence
- Maintain controlled EH&S documents including procedures forms training materials inspection checklists emergency plans compliance matrices regulatory postings and controlled copies used on the shop floor.
- Organize and retrieve records for Cal/OSHA inspections OSHA/HazCom reviews Orange County CUPA inspections CERS/HMBP submittal support SCAQMD permit evidence DTSC hazardous waste inspections Water Board stormwater/wastewater reviews OCFA/fire code interface customer audits and insurance reviews.
- Coordinate retention and version control for training records incident/corrective-action records exposure-monitoring evidence permit records manifests inspection logs drill records audit findings and compliance reports.
- Ensure records are complete legible date-stamped assigned to correct employees/processes and stored in approved systems with appropriate confidentiality and controlled-program protections.
3. Compliance Calendar and Corrective-Action Tracking
- Maintain an EH&S compliance calendar for training due dates permit/report deadlines inspections audits drills sampling events regulatory renewals postings and management review updates.
- Track corrective and preventive actions from inspections incidents audits regulator visits customer findings risk assessments and management reviews.
- Publish recurring dashboards showing overdue training upcoming compliance obligations aged actions repeat findings required evidence and escalation items.
- Escalate missed deadlines incomplete records overdue corrective actions or unresolved evidence gaps that could create regulatory safety environmental or customer risk.
4. Aerospace & Defense Audit Readiness
- Support customer AS9100/NADCAP-style prime contractor corporate insurance and regulatory audits by preparing training evidence procedure control objective evidence attendance records corrective-action status and compliance summaries.
- Coordinate with quality and security when EH&S training audits drills or records involve restricted areas customer-owned property controlled information special processes or defense-program work areas.
- Ensure EH&S training and documentation practices reinforce aerospace norms: traceability process discipline change control contamination/FOD awareness qualification evidence and configuration sensitivity.
- Maintain audit response packages and lessons learned so findings are converted into training updates procedural revisions and verified corrective actions.

5. Vertically Integrated Acrylic Manufacturing Training Support
- Coordinate hazard-specific training for MMA/monomers polymerization safeguards flammable liquids solvents adhesives sealants coatings primers resins catalysts/inhibitors ovens autoclaves furnaces tanks cleanrooms glass cutting/grinding dust collection polishing CNC machining and high-risk maintenance.
- Partner with EH&S professionals and process owners to keep training content aligned with current SDSs process changes job safety analyses PHAs MOCs operating procedures permit conditions and lessons learned from incidents or near misses.
- Support multilingual or visual training aids for chemical areas waste accumulation points emergency equipment PPE zones eyewash/shower locations evacuation routes storm drain protection and high-risk work controls.
- Verify affected employees receive training before working with new chemicals equipment processes procedures or customer-specific restricted areas.
6. Regulatory and Local Agency Interface Support
- Support Cal/OSHA IIPP records by ensuring documented training communication inspection hazard correction and incident investigation evidence is available.
- Support OSHA HazCom and California Hazard Communication implementation by maintaining training evidence SDS access references chemical inventory links label/secondary container communication materials and non-routine task communication records.
- Support CERS/HMBP and CUPA readiness by coordinating employee emergency response/hazardous material training records site map awareness evacuation/drill evidence and annual refresher documentation.
- Support environmental training obligations tied to SCAQMD air permits and VOC records DTSC hazardous waste generator requirements Water Board stormwater/wastewater programs SPCC/secondary containment where applicable and local fire/emergency expectations.
7. Learning System Administration and Continuous Improvement
- Administer the learning management system or training tracker role assignments rosters reminders completion reports certificates and integrations with HR/contractor onboarding systems.
- Standardize training templates toolbox talks quick-reference guides trainer notes sign-in formats evaluation forms and control of translated materials.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through observations quizzes supervisor feedback audit findings incident trends repeat nonconformances and employee questions.
- Improve EH&S training delivery to reduce downtime while preserving competency compliance and practical shop-floor application.
8. Emergency Preparedness and Communication Support
- Coordinate recurring drills tabletop exercises emergency action plan training evacuation role training spill response awareness HMBP emergency procedures earthquake preparedness fire prevention and emergency equipment orientation.
- Maintain drill rosters critiques after-action items employee notifications visitor/contractor emergency communication materials and corrective-action tracking.
- Support incident communications safety alerts near-miss lessons learned regulatory updates and change-related training bulletins.
Coordinate with security operations EH&S facilities and emergency response teams so emergency training aligns with actual site conditions and responder expectations.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree technical certificate or equivalent coursework in occupational safety environmental compliance training administration HR manufacturing or related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience coordinating EH&S training compliance records document control audit evidence manufacturing training quality systems HR learning systems or regulated industrial compliance activities.
- Working knowledge of EH&S training and recordkeeping concepts for IIPP HazCom/GHS PPE emergency action/fire prevention LOTO hazardous waste hazardous materials respiratory/hearing programs powered industrial trucks stormwater/wastewater air compliance and contractor safety.
- Ability to maintain training matrices compliance calendars controlled documents rosters certificates corrective-action logs audit folders and LMS records with high accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail calendar management follow-through communication customer service and ability to coordinate across multiple departments and shifts.
- Ability to work safely in manufacturing environments involving flammable liquids MMA/monomers solvents coatings resins glass processing machinery forklifts maintenance work and emergency response activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to use LMS platforms SharePoint/document-control systems EH&S databases corrective-action systems spreadsheets and reporting dashboards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with hourly employees supervisors engineers maintenance technicians contractors auditors regulators HR quality and EH&S professionals.
- Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in occupational safety environmental health industrial hygiene training and development business engineering technology manufacturing or related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Cal/OSHA training HAZWOPER RCRA hazardous waste training DOT hazmat awareness first aid/CPR/AED trainer certification or equivalent EH&S credentials.
- Experience in aerospace defense acrylic/PMMA/MMA processing glass fabrication coatings solvent bonding chemical manufacturing cleanroom/controlled finishing or high-mix regulated manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Cal/OSHA Title 8 training requirements OSHA general industry training requirements HazCom/GHS CERS/HMBP CUPA inspections DTSC hazardous waste South Coast AQMD Water Board and fire code interfaces.
- Experience supporting AS9100 NADCAP ISO 14001 ISO 45001 VPP-style customer/prime contractor insurance or corporate EH&S audits.
- Experience building role-based training matrices multilingual training programs microlearning/toolbox talks practical competency checks and LMS dashboards.
- Bilingual English/Spanish capability or demonstrated success coordinating training for a multilingual Southern California manufacturing workforce.
- Experience with aerospace controlled information restricted-access areas customer property special process audit evidence or defense supplier requirements.

Salary Range: $96466.00 -$120583.00
