Job Summary

EHS Compliance Program Lead

Youll own the safety and compliance playbook for our partnership with site leadership you will embed environmental health and safety thinking into daily operations and longrange plans ensuring adherence to all federal state and local industrial standards. Your goal: a secure accidentfree workplace supported by strong programs vigilant audits and meaningful training.

A day in the role

Start the morning on the floor with a targeted training session. Review leading indicators and incident rates then finalize OSHA and other required regulatory reports. Walk the plant to audit conditions and run exposure assessments. When a near miss is reported you lead the investigation identify root cause and put corrective actions in motion. Midday you connect with our workers compensation carrier to manage an active claim and contain the afternoon you chair the Safety Committee sync with our security vendor on site protocols update the SDS library and support food safety and GMP practices across production. If an employee becomes ill or is injured you accompany them to the medical facility and stay until family arrives or treatment is complete. When needed you coordinate with company attorneys and attend settlement hearings for injured employees.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver safety training that keeps every employee contractor and customer interaction safe and compliant.
  • Lead incident response for work-related illnesses injuries accidents and near misses; determine root causes and verify corrective and preventive actions are completed.
  • Prepare OSHA logs and all other required governmental filings; ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Support corporate projects and proactively mitigate potential liability by preventing accidents.
  • Create and share clear safety metrics including leading indicators and incident rates.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs protecting personnel outside contractors and customers.
  • Administer and manage workers compensation claims for the plant; coordinate with the carrier to control and reduce costs.
  • Conduct plant audits to identify hazards; develop targeted training and manage personal exposure assessments.
  • Run multiple projects hands-on in a fast-paced environmentorganize prioritize and deliver results independently.
  • Assemble materials and evidence for investigations as needed.
  • Organize and lead the employee Safety Committee to elevate awareness and engagement.
  • Interface with local state and federal agencies to assure compliance with safety health and environmental laws.
  • Perform facility audits to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; determine corrective or preventive measures and follow through to completion.
  • Oversee plant security and direct the on-site security partner.
  • Receive and maintain plant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure accessibility.
  • Champion food safety and adherence to GMPs.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong computer skills: Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint and project management software.
  • Proven organizational and management abilities.
  • Current certifications in CPR First Aid AED and Bloodborne Pathogens with the capability to train others.
  • Accountable self-driven and committed to continual improvement.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively in groups or independently.
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Detail-focused and results-oriented.
  • Familiarity with a unionized environment.
