EEG Tech Trainee

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Technologist preceptor EEG Technologist Coordinator and/or department manager learns to perform routine inpatient and outpatient EEG and LTM on all ages.

Responsibilities

Assists with patient intakes and preparations for EEG testing

Documents patient information and pertinent patient history

Performs electrode measuring mapping and application utilizing International 10/20 system

Operates and monitors EEG equipment during recording following ACNS guidelines

Performs basic data analysis related to EEG waveforms

Cleans disinfects and maintains equipment supplies and patient care areas as needed

Maintains appropriate use of PPE

Ensures patient comfort and safety during testing

Performs other related duties as assigned

Familiar with standard concepts practices and procedures within the field

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

Current student enrolled in Neurodiagnostic program

Completion of college-level courses in anatomy and physiology basic electronics and medical terminology preferred

Experience in a patient care setting preferred

Working Conditions

Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position

Typical equipment used in a clinical job

Must be able to push pull or transport heavy equipment

Must be able to assist in patient transfer

Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs

• If you change your title or department you will receive a new badge. Badges are printed and available in Security on the Wednesday of the week following your transfer.

• Those with a primary position as a PRN will receive per diem pay. Per Diem rates are tiered depending on number of years of employment.
