Reports to:Principal/District Administration

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• must have a high school diploma (or equivalent); associates degree preferred
• must obtain an acceptable performance on qualification test (includes reading math and computer skills)
• must be able to monitor student learning and behavior
• must be able to motivate special needs children
• must have ability to take directions and work collaboratively with staff members
• must exhibit patience and flexibility in all situations and demonstrate a strong work ethic
• must possess an optimistic attitude and good public relations skills
• must have a good record of punctuality and demonstrate building average attendance
• must have a sound belief that ALL children can and will learn and evidence of emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved
• must support the district beliefs
• must perform other duties as assigned
• must have an acceptable background check and complete all required personnel records

DUTIES TO POSSIBLY INCLUDE (but not limited to):

• Work well with students who have challenging behaviors
• Must have strong communication skills
