Job Summary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Entry Level Position (K-12th grades); positions open at Atsa Biyaazh Community School (K-6) and Northwest Middle-High School (7-12)
High School Diploma or equivalency Associates Degree in Education preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid New Mexico Education Assistant and Substitute (PreK-12) Licensures.
Comprehensive basic knowledge of New Mexico PED Academic Standards.
Knowledgeable of PL 105 - IDEA Regulations.
Must have or obtain -
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification for infant/child/adult
- Navajo Nation Food Handlers permit
- Crisis Prevention Institute - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification preferred
Bilingual in Dine & English preferred.
Must be able to meet minimum physical requirements: sitting standing lifting carrying (up to 50 lbs) reaching squatting kneeling and moving light furniture may be required.
Must have valid state-issued drivers license.
**MUST be able to pass background checks for New Mexico state Navajo Nation and FBI prior to employment.
SASI is a Tribally Controlled school under the Bureau of Indian Education located on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock NM
