Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our ED Tech you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.

Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges perform vital signs and basic medical procedures maintain a clean and organized environment and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.

To be successful you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability strong communication skills and a calm proactive demeanor contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.

  • Consistently accurately & timely: transcribes physician orders. 100% accuracy is the goal.
  • Correctly transcribes orders in EHR system and signs off orders per FHMC policy
  • Correctly transcribes orders during downtime procedures.
  • Notifies appropriate staff of medication and treatment orders.
  • Consistently accurately & timely: places patient stickers on patient charts faxes orders to pharmacy sends charts to medical records after discharge & adds chart forms as needed.
  • Consistently accurately & timely: files chart forms duplicates medical records as needed orders supplies & initiates follow-through with maintenance requests
Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician program
  • Acute care and clinical secretary experience.
  • Completion of approved Unit Clerk class or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support - CPR BLS
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA or
  • Emergency Medical Technician: CA or
  • Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: CA
