(ECST) Assistant Team Lead Corrosion Prevention and Control

Corrosion Service Teams (CSTs) provide organizational level Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPAC) services defined by Marine Corps Technical Manual 4795-OR/1A and associated USMC CPAC policies and procedures. The CST Enhanced Corrosion Service (ECST) Assistant Team Lead (ATL) ensures the production of the ECST Team and complies with quality standards as defined by Marine Corps Technical Manual 4795-OR/1A organizational policies and procedures. The job description of an ECST ATL ensures products and services meet the established standards set by the Marine Corps and the contracted company. The ECST ATL also trains and works with personnel assigned to the ECST team works with customers collaborates with the ECST Team Lead the Corrosion Service Team (CST) Lead and the Field Service Representative (FSR) using effective communication skills and exercising strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Position Description:

The ECST ATL must have a working knowledge of all CPAC policies procedures responsibilities and billets within the CST. They maintain strong quality control of ECST production adhering to reliability performance and customer expectation. Inspection of products is part of the job with the obligation to report and document findings. Subsequently they oversee the production process looking for erroneous methods or application of coatings in support of Surface Preparation and Touch-Up Procedures. The position will observe production for visible defects perform various tests to check for durability of the product and other desirable characteristics record findings prepare reports accept or reject assets produced participate in the implementation of quality control programs prepare quality guidelines and perform other assigned duties including but not limited to training and collaborating with the ECST Lead the CST Lead and the FSR to establish and/or maintain a production schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a CPAC QAR:

• Review and understand all Marine Corps Orders technical manuals and policies involving Corrosion Prevention and Control.

Inspect assess validate verify and document corrosion category code III IV and V equipment.

Conduct on-the-spot training to ensure proper classification of corrosion category codes

• Inspect application equipment to identify faults.

Ensure the uniformity of ECST team member appearance and the wear of clothing provided by employer.

• Enforce compliance of all safety procedures to include personal protective equipment and environmental regulations.
• Periodically inspect the required publications to ensure the most current and up to date references are maintained and available.
• Record findings complete project documentation and submit reports as directed.
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets for all products used by the ECST team.
• Conduct and maintain monthly inventory of accountable items assigned to the ECST and requisition items as necessary.
• Conduct and maintain a biweekly inventory of required hazardous materials (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) paint etc.) and requisition as necessary.
• Ensure all accountable items are clean and operational.
• Manage conduct and track ECST team weekly monthly quarterly semi-annual and annual training.
• On occasion perform routine maintenance of CPAC equipment.
• Travel as required to perform the duties of the position.
• Collaborate and coordinate with the ECST Lead and CST Lead to identify and correct assigned personnel issues as necessary.

• Hold or be capable of passing a background check to receive identification credentials through the Defense Biometric Identification System.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify mistakes and direct corrective action plans.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Possess a valid state drivers license.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Frequently stand and walk throughout the day.
• During short-durations ECST ATL may be required to lift to 50 pounds safely.
• During long-durations ESCT ATL may be required to mount and dismount military and support equipment of varying heights safely.
• During long-durations ECST ATL may be required to work in outdoor weather conditions (hot cold rain etc.).
• During long-durations ECST ATL may be required to wear and use company provided personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes but is not limited to: safety goggles hand protection and respirator equipment etc.
• Visual accuracy is required.

Education/Experience:

• Possess a High School diploma or equivalent and/or a vocational degree.
• Prefer a degree from a military school which provides an in-depth knowledge of Marine Corps operations and maintenance practices.
• Possess (18) months of demonstrated experience with the CST and (1) year demonstrated experience with the ECST.
