Ecological Restoration Technical Advisor Environmental Planning & Regulatory (On-Call)

Job Summary

- While working in a multi-discipline team you will be collaborating with botanists wildlife biologists soil scientists geomorphologists landscape architects hydrologists restoration engineers and planners.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to support projects including permit packages environmental planning documents feasibility assessments survey planning biological monitoring restoration planning general reporting visual presentations and overall project management.
- You will have a passion for natural resources the capacity to learn the desire to challenge yourself by developing new approaches and strategies and communicate with team members and clients (verbal and writing)
- Lead and manage complex environmental planning and regulatory compliance projects involving CEQA land use habitat conservation and infrastructure planning.
- Provide strategic guidance on environmental review permitting pathways biological mitigation and environmental risk management.
- Support habitat conservation planning (HCP/MSCP) and mitigation program development and implementation.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies including CDFW USFWS RWQCB USACE and local jurisdictions.
- Develop and review environmental documentation regulatory strategies and technical reports.
- Mentor staff and support multidisciplinary team collaboration.
- Bachelors degree in Biology Ecology Environmental Science or related field.
- 15 years of experience in environmental planning regulatory compliance habitat conservation restoration or related fields.
- Extensive experience with CEQA and environmental permitting compliance and environmental review processes.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and permitting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience preparing complex planning and technical documents
- Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational communication and analytical skills as well as ability to multitask.
