Location: Banner Estrella Medical Center - 9201 W Thomas Rd Phoenix AZ 85037
Schedule: Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. 6:30 p.m.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist IIto join our dynamic imaging team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation of hospital-based clinical experience demonstrating the ability to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced acute care environment.
The successful candidate will possess advanced proficiency in the following areas:
Obstetric & Maternal-Fetal Medicine (OB/MFM) Ultrasound
Performing detailed fetal anatomical surveys growth assessments and biophysical profiles
Supporting MFM specialists with high-risk pregnancy evaluations and fetal Doppler studies
Demonstrating expertise in first second and third trimesterscreening and monitoring protocols
Conducting third trimester assessments including fetal presentation placental localization amniotic fluid evaluation and fetal well-being studies
Performing complete third trimester scansinclusive of fetal biometry interval growth fetal anatomy review and maternal cervical length assessments
Vascular Ultrasound
Conducting arterial and venous duplex studies of upper and lower extremities
Performing carotid renal artery Doppler and abdominal duplex imaging
Interpreting hemodynamic waveforms and flow patterns with accuracy
General Ultrasound
Executing comprehensive abdominal pelvic thyroid and soft tissue examinations
Adapting scanning techniques for diverse patient populations including pediatric and critical care patients
Assist in all image-guided ultrasound proceduresin collaboration with the clinical and procedural care team
Hospital Experience Requirements
Minimum of 35 yearsof hospital-based ultrasound experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with radiologists physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
Proficiency in PACS systems electronic health records and imaging documentation standards (Cerner Electronic Health Record experience preferred)

This position performs procedures by following and verifying referring providers orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures for 2 Ultrasound certifications.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs all exams by following and verifying referring providers orders. Adheres to established protocols and provides all pertinent patient information utilized by Radiologist for complete dictation. Uses independent judgement and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures for all ultrasound exams. Scanning competencies should include all patient ages acuity levels and classes independently and without quality issues. Performs problem solving triages orders and effectively communicates findings with Radiologist. Produces efficient images with high quality output. Performs ultrasound guided procedures and works closely with radiologist or provider.
2. Educates patients and families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions. Fosters teamwork ensures efficient use of resources and advocates for quality patient outcomes which aid in diagnosis and care plan.
3. Serves as a subject matter expert within their 2 registries. May present at team meetings and/or participate in other opportunities to improve quality. Performs quality control checks on images and equipment as requested.
4. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Performs troubleshooting as needed and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Facilitates and follows up on repairs and maintenance as needed on equipment and supplies. Maintains a safe environment for patients personnel and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.
5. Consistently documents findings in a professional and clear manner. Follows standardized protocols without variation. Captures high quality images in the standardized format. Ensures patient questions are answered in a timely manner. Possesses experience needed to decipher between incorrect and correct order. Advocates on behalf of patient to ensure exam performed will provide a diagnostic answer supporting continued care.
6. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable and in accordance with established policies. Maintains proficiency and competencies signed off for all studies related to certifications. Provides technical guidance to less experienced technologists. May serve as a preceptor to train new staff.
7. Accountable for the ethical legal professional and certification responsibilities related to the practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
8. Helps facilitate efficient workflows in the department through patient triage and prioritization. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to facilitate uninterrupted services. Continuously supports modality and department initiatives created by leadership for expedited patient throughput.
9. Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff medical staff and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies patients and family members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires national certification in two areas of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 3-5 years of experience.
Must demonstrate effective communication skills human relations skills ability to analyze data and solve problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
