Job Summary:
Perform quality echocardiographic diagnostic imaging to support quality patient care.
Perform quality cardiac testing procedures such as Echo Stress Testing to support quality diagnosis & treatment of patients.
Contribute to the professional development of all team members and provide monitoring and mentoring of students to ensure proper training in assisting patients families and staff.
Communicate effectively with patients about the procedure to obtain information and to offer reassurance..

Perform quality echocardiographic diagnostic imaging to support quality patient care.
Perform quality cardiac testing procedures such as Echo Stress Testing to support quality diagnosis & treatment of patients.

Duties:
- Administer one dimensional two dimensional and Doppler (pulse wave imaging and non-imaging continuous wave and color flow mapping) echocardiograms to patients while explaining test procedures attaching equipment to patients adjusting control settings to obtain the optimum display while recording on videotape and chart recorder
- Complete reports of echocardiogram examinations including complete measurements and initial interpretation of results which is discussed with supervisor
- Train and help schedule cardiology fellows medical students and technical students in the proper technique and interpretation of echocardiograms
Review literature in the Echocardiology field - Assist with other daily activities of the laboratory including scheduling of patients screening emergency requests for exams contacting vendors for machine servicing
- Administer one dimensional two dimensional and Doppler echocardiograms to patients
- Explain test procedures
- Complete reports of echocardiogram examinations
- Attend conferences and continuing education courses
- Associates Degree; may substitute degree for graduation from an accredited school of Echocardiography Technology.
- Must obtain CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire date.
One-year of hands-on experience in Echocardiography in a comparable healthcare setting.
