Job Summary
Penrose - St. Francis Health Services is a full-service 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 300-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890 Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center specializing in cancer care cardiac care emergency trauma care and physical rehabilitation. Provides specialized cardiovascular care while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort.
Performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment and evaluates patient response to diagnostic cardiac
procedures. Proficient in the operation and maintenance as specified by the manufacturer of all
diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for procedures in the specific area of operation.

Education Requirements
Degree Specialty Required
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required
Associate Degree Preferred Graduate of a diploma associate or baccalaureate academic program in health science (including but not limited to cardiovascular technology ultrasound radiologic technology respiratory therapy or nursing) or Graduate of a programmatically accredited program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) strongly preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
Two years of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography)
Previous leadership experience preferred
License/Certifications Requirement
Credential Source Required
Basic Life Support American Heart Association Required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Required Currently registered as American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or via CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
