Job Title:Star System Assistant

Position Summary:
The Star System Assistant supports the Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) Color Guard and Percussion programs. This position involves assisting with dance instruction choreography program design and other duties as assigned by the Band Director. The Star System is vital in enhancing the performance and artistry of the Color Guard and Percussion programs while contributing to their success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Band Director to plan and execute choreography and program design for performances.
• Provide instruction in dance movement and other performance techniques to enhance student skills.
• Assist in rehearsals performances and competitions to ensure the success of the Color Guard and Percussion programs.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters teamwork and artistic growth.
• Support logistical and administrative needs as directed by the Band Director.

Qualifications:

• Experience in dance choreography or related fields is preferred.
• Knowledge of Color Guard and/or Percussion performance techniques is an asset.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students and staff.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and creative environment for student performers.

Salary:
The teacher contract guides the salary for this position and follows the North Lawrence Community Schools Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) compensation schedule.
