Job Summary
Early Childhood Educator and ConsultantPosition Summary: To support the mission of Jewish Educational Services by providing consultation and support to early childhood directors teachers and students helping them to meet the diverse needs of students. Responsibilities include participating in and possibly facilitating regular EC director cohort meetings planning and delivering professional development training coaching and mentoring teachers consulting with parents and when warranted providing direct support to students. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10 hours per Responsibilities: The following responsibilities describe the overall scope of the position. Actual duties will be determined by organizational priorities and available hours and may include a subset of the responsibilities classroom observations with a teacher-driven focus on specific students OR on broader issues such as classroom management differentiated instruction center-based learning and promoting active student engagement. Provide targeted teacher training in any of the areas identified above. Provide follow-up to professional development that supports implementation as well as tracking acquisition of new teacher skills that can be observed and measured. Develop action plans for individual students/groups of students to promote improved academics social skills and/or behavior. Provide written documentation of plans and assist with data collection and analysis. Participate in school/program-based student support team meetings to share results of observations and interventions when appropriate. Consult/meet with parents to assist in navigating school challenges make referrals for outside intervention/resources and to determine appropriate school in the planning and execution of professional development programs including the monthly Early Childhood Directors meetings and annual Early Childhood Conference. Attend all four JES All-Staff Meetings EC Conference(s) the Summer Staff Retreat the JES Educator Awards and optional JES events including the Mental Wellness and Qualifications: Passion for working with teachers of young children and deep commitment to ensuring that each teacher and child gets what they need to knowledge of trending topics in Early Childhood Education and ability to share that information with stakeholders (administrators teachers parents staff and board members) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to convey understanding compassion and empathy. Strong communication and collaboration skills Excellent written communication and experience in providing background information for grants. Familiarity with Jewish holidays and customsEarly Childhood classroom experience (teacher therapist interventionist) Masters degree in early childhood elementary education or related field 3 years administrative or director experience OR teacher coaching/mentoring experience Knowledge of school accreditation process licensing and maintaining teacher certification is preferred Experience in planning and delivering professional development programs. MSDE certified trainer or willing to go through the to schedule school visits and be on-site at preschools at least 75% of the in Microsoft Office programs including mail merging in Word Excel and OutlookProficiency using online social media is preferableCompensation & Benefits: Salary range is $60-$70 per hour and is commensurate withqualifications skills and experience.
