At Emersons Power & Water Solutions youll work on technology that supports some of the worlds most critical infrastructure. Our industry-leading automation and control solutions help power generation and water treatment facilities operate more safely efficiently and sustainably across North America.
This is more than a traditional engineering role. Youll travel solve problems in real time work alongside experienced engineers and see firsthand how your work helps deliver reliable power and clean water to communities across the country.
Through structured training mentorship and exposure to industry-leading technologies including virtualization simulation and remote support platforms youll build the skills and experience needed to launch a rewarding engineering career.
- Support the installation startup commissioning and maintenance of advanced automation and control systems at customer sites
- Work directly with customers to troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver effective solutions
- Learn industry-leading technologies through hands-on field experience and mentorship from experienced engineers
- Assist with system testing quality assurance activities and performance evaluations
- Provide on-site and remote support during project implementation and system upgrades
- Participate in customer training sessions and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
- Collaborate with project teams contractors and customers to ensure successful project execution
- Develop strong technical problem-solving and customer relationship skills through real-world experience
- Contribute to the improvement of operational procedures field documentation and best practices
- Build a deep understanding of critical infrastructure systems that support power generation and water treatment operations

You have great listening skills and enjoy building relationships with others. You readily tackle new challenges and stay focused when solving complex problems in dynamic environments.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals design principles and problem-solving methodologies
- Strong analytical thinking and a passion for troubleshooting technical challenges
- Curiosity adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel up to 80% as required
- Internship co-op research capstone or other hands-on technical project experience
- Exposure to automation controls software simulation or related technologies
- Experience working on team-based projects
- Leadership experience through student organizations athletics volunteer activities or engineering clubs
- Passion for technology innovation and continuous learning
Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary within the local market in which we operate and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary for this role ranges from $75000 - $80000 annually commensurate with the skills talent capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
