E&I Technician II (Electrical & Instrumentation Technician II)

6-Month Project Assignment

Position Summary

We are seeking an experiencedE&I Technician II to join our team for a6-month project supporting a chemical manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for troubleshooting repairing maintaining and calibrating electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe reliable and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with industrial electrical equipment process instrumentation and automated control systems in a chemical manufacturing refinery or power generation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot repair maintain and calibrate electrical and instrumentation equipment in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and plant utilities.
  • Install test and maintain electrical systems control circuits motors motor control centers (MCCs) lighting systems variable frequency drives (VFDs) instrumentation and automation equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain field instrumentation including pressure temperature flow level analytical devices and control valves.
  • Interpret electrical schematics P&IDs vendor drawings and technical documentation.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLC DCS and automated control system hardware.
  • Identify and resolve equipment reliability safety and environmental concerns.
  • Assist with plant startups shutdowns turnarounds and emergency response activities as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime as required to support plant operations.
  • Follow all company safety policies environmental regulations and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree technical degree or trade school certification in Electrical Instrumentation Automation Industrial Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician license Instrumentation certification or equivalent technical credential preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of6 years of electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience in a chemical industrial manufacturing refinery power generation or similar industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with industrial electrical systems up to480 volts.
  • Experience troubleshooting instrumentation automated equipment process controls and control valves.
  • Working knowledge of PLC DCS VFD and motor control systems.
  • Experience calibrating testing and maintaining process instrumentation.

Required Skills

  • Strong electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics P&IDs and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and electrical codes.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency using electrical testing diagnostic and calibration equipment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday primarily day shift.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
  • Must be available to work overtime weekends and holidays as needed to support plant operations.
