Job Summary
Salary: $21.00 per hour to $21.50 (depending on experience)
Catholic Charities of Baltimore Gallagher Services is seeking a Sr. Direct Support Professional to provide qualityliving support (physical socialbehavioral career andpersonal)topersonswith intellectual and/ordevelopmentaldisabilities(IDD) legal rights of all people are protected by advocating teaching promoting dignity and reasonable risk and following mandatory reporting guidelines forthe peoplesupported.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday 9 AM - 5 PM
Gallagher Services provides residential and day support for people with intellectual disabilities funded by DDA. Residential homes located in Anne Arundel Baltimore and Harford Counties and Baltimore City. Residential support includes independent living 24-hour supervised care assisted living and retirement programs and life care and nursing. Limited Respite services are also available. Day services also provided including work readiness vocational training supported employment and creative day activities. An Adult Medical Day Center provides higher levels of nursing and supervision services for individuals with more intensive medical needs.
JOBDUTIES&RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provideshands-onassistanceinthehomeincluding but not limited toindividualizedsupportsintransferringbathingand grooming and following specific dining protocols and treatments.
- Assistswithandteachesskillsinlaundrymealpreparationandotherhouseholdchores.
- UtilizesthePositiveBehaviorSupports(PBS)approachforpreventioninterventionteachingandattending to behaviors.
- Assistswith doctors appointments emergency room and hospital visits and contacts on-call nursing appropriatelywhilefollowingHIPPAandalwaysmaintainingconfidentialityandreportscriticalissues (including medical maintenance staffing etc.)immediatelyto the supervisor.
- MaintainsknowledgeofNursingPlansofCare(NPOC)feedingprotocolsandsafetypracticesand procedures including universal precautions.
- Completesallrequiredtrainingswithin3 monthsofhire.
- AdministersmedicationsaccordingtopoliciesandproceduresofMedicationTechnicianTraining Program/Certified Medication Technician (MTTP/CMT) curriculum and applicable regulations.
- AttendsPerson-centeredPlanning(PCP)meetingsasrequired.
- UtilizestheAgencyCaseManagementSoftwaretoaccuratelydocumentallrelevantlogs(i.e.:incident reporting diary entries goal/outcomes etc.) including but not limited to; Communication/Diary Logs Incident Reporting Goals and Outcomes and Fire Drill Logs as outlined in policies and procedures.
- Assistsallpersonsinbeingactivelyinvolvedintheirdailyactivitiestoachievegreaterindependenceusing person-centered planning and self-determination.
- MaintainsthehomeandAgencyvehiclesthroughseasonalmaintenanceroutinecleaningandtheimmediate reporting of issues or concerns.
- Attendsandparticipatesinallrequiredeventsworkshopstrainingsandmeetings.
- Performsotherdutiesasassigned.

EDUCATION&EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of experiencesupportingindividualswithintellectualdevelopmentaldisabilities.
WORKINGCONDITIONS/PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:
- Validhealthcertificatetomeetcurrentfundingjurisdictionrequirements.
- Abilitytomoveandadjustaminimum of 75poundsstandforperiodsoftimebendpushwheelchairs provide physical intervention as necessary and be able to lift and/or transfer people.
- Hearingandvisionabilitieswithinnormalrange(corrected) todrivesafelyandtoobserveandcommunicate with people supported.
- To ensure the safety and well-being of the people we support DSPs may be deployed to another setting home/worksetting with either multiple people or someone who lives/works autonomously.
- Mayberequiredtoremainonshiftoutsideofscheduledhoursand/ormakesite/locationchangestoprovide adequate staff coverage.
- Driving(Agencyand/or personalvehicle)isrequiredfor 21yearsofage with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience anda valid drivers license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state-issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede drivers ability tooperatethe vehicle as required by the Agency and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.

- Requirestheabilitytoutilizeortolearntoutilizecomputersystemsandsoftwarenecessarytoperform position PC webbrowsingand Microsoft Outlook skills preferred.
