Job Summary

Oak Leyden has an Immediate opening for a caring individual who wants to make a difference by working in our CILA Residential group homes for adults with developmental disabilities.

Our CILA DSP Specialist assists adults with developmental disabilities with activities of daily living skills by teaching and assisting with personal hygiene home cleanliness cooking and other daily activities.

The ideal candidate must be flexible to work at any of our 11 CILA group homes for adults with disabilities. They must also be flexible to work any shift that is needed. They will also assist Home Managers with grocery shopping for the homes. Must be willing and able to be certified to pass medications in all of our CILA homes.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED. (Must provide acceptable documents)
  • Must be Certified Direct Support Professional (DSP) showing on the Illinois Healthcare Worker registry.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a DSP.
  • Must have a valid Illinois Drivers License ability to be insured under OL vehicle insurance and be willing to drive an agency vehicle.
  • Must have ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass the State mandated reading comprehension test physical with drug screen Lift test TB test and Criminal background checks.
  • Must provide all required acceptable documentation at sign-up.
  • Must be willing and able to work DSP base shift at any home and be flexible based on Organizational need.

Record-Keeping Requirements: Include but not limited to the following:

  • Complete Action Taken/Progress Notes on each shift
  • MARs including treatment sheets
  • Bed check logs
  • Data collection systems (for both ISP and BMP where applicable)
  • Community outing logs
  • Mileage sheets (in vehicles)
  • Medication Review for Home Visits form
  • And all other documents current as instructed by the Home Manager and QIDP.
