Job Summary
- Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities including those with potential behavioral support needs.
- Assist with activities of daily living household cleaning meal preparation shopping budgeting personal goals appointments community activities and engagement.
- Maintain a clean safe and supportive living environment.
- Promote independence personal choice and life skills development.
- Support individuals in achieving goals and objectives outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress accordingly.
- Observe and communicate changes concerns and progress to supervisors and team members.
- Transport individuals to appointments activities and community outings as needed.
- Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications :
Required (Must-Have)
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand walk bend or squat for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Skills & Abilities
- Experience training or transferable skills that support success in a direct support role
- Strong teamwork communication and problem-solving skills
- Genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to promote independence community engagement and person-centered supports
