The Opportunity

Our US Pipeline Safety Compliance team is evolving to meet the needs of our growingbusinessand we are expanding our presence to support our DOT pipeline compliance throughout the US Natural Gas business unit. This position will be responsible primarily for providing regulatory compliance support and guidance for an identified operating region with US Gas Operations. This will includefacilitatingboth internal inspections and external inspections of our pipeline liquified natural gas (LNG) and underground natural gas storage facilities with Federal and Stateregulatoryagencies.This support will also include providing interpretations to the compliance requirements and management offindings and enforcements.

We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist who has knowledge and experience in managing multiple priorities and initiatives with various internal and external stakeholders from initiation to completion.

Whatyoulldo

  • Provide overall support and guidance to ensure documented adherence to state and federal regulations for 49 CFR 191 192 and 193 as well as TC Energy internal programs and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards

  • Lead andparticipatein Federal and State inspections for their respective Region

  • A key aspect of the role is to communicate regulatory interpretations to our business unit management team with the intent of implementing continuous productivity improvements product/service quality improvements and management of change

  • Ability torepresentTC Energywith regulatory agencies duringinformal conferences and formal hearings with regards to inspection findingswhenapplicable;

  • Establish andmaintainrelationships across the businessunit stakeholdersand with external regulatory bodies enhance credibility and trust and influence and manage at multiple levels of the organization

  • Represent TC Energy invarious industry group meetings and working groupsto influenceparticipatein state damage prevention meetings andpipeline safety meetings and any otherinitiativesthat support pipeline safety compliancewith State and Federal Agencies

  • Supporton-siteand Emergency Operations Command calls foremergency response and associated exercises

  • Identifyprocess improvements and best practicesobservedin the field or recommended by others and ensure implementation by working with key stakeholders

  • Understand and provide guidance on established regulations standards best practices company policies procedurespracticesand their applicability to the company

  • Support anddisseminatechanges to various DOT compliance programs

Additionalresponsibilitieswill bedeterminedbycurrent and future business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in DOT Regulatory Compliance

  • Relevant post secondary education

  • Strong knowledge of 49 CFR 191 192 and 193 regulations

  • Possess excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft software (Excel WordTeamsPowerPointand SharePoint) with emphasis on setting up SharePoint environmentsfor internal and external use;

  • Strong knowledge of SAP;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in the oil gas regulatedutilityor power generation industry is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicateandexertinfluencewith a diverse group of people;
  • High degree of initiative and ability to plan prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision;

  • Must be results-oriented;
