Dolby Laboratories is looking for a self-motivated talented individual interested in applying their theoretical and practicalexpertiseto the development ofnew technologies. The position is in theMultimodal Processing Team within the Advanced Technology Group of Dolby Laboratories. It will involve workingin close collaboration with otherresearchscientists/engineers/AIresearchers in multiple locations.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Machine Perception and Reasoning team you will developinnovative AI algorithmsdesigned to process audio and/or video data forapplications inaudio-visual qualityevaluation audio-visual content analysisand multimodal representations.Your contributionswill help the definition of new formats and evaluation pipelines for generative AI media.

What are we looking for in candidates

Along with your solid technical skills candidates shoulddemonstrateproblem-solvingand analytical abilities goodcommunicationandcollaborationskills acuriosityfor how and why things work as they do and a passionfor audio video movies music or game technology.

Areas of Focus

  • Multimodalmachinelearning anddeeplearning.

  • Multimodal generative AI.

  • Audio and/orVideo quality evaluation.

  • Audio-visual content analysis and enhancement.

  • Multimodal representationlearning.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Ph.D.degree in Artificial Intelligence Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field.

  • Experience developing and training deep learning architectures.

  • Experience working with deep learning architecture for audioand/orvideoapplications.

  • First-author publications attop-tierpeer-reviewed AI conferences(CVPR ICCV ECCVNeurIPS ICMLICLRInterSpeech ICASSP etc.).

  • Programming experience in Python and experience working with frameworks likePyTorchor TensorFlow.

  • Ability to prototype quickly with adept critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented work ethic.

Eligibility

Working towards aPh.D. degreein Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field; recentgradswithin six months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday to Fridayfor12 weeksbetween September 2026 December 2026.

The start date for this internship is as follows (please note these dates are not flexible):

  • September 21 2026

The Atlanta Area base hourly range for this internship position is $53/hrand can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role level and location. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
