Job Summary
Symbria is looking to hire a Documentation and Authorization Specialist to our Team!
The primary responsibility of the Documentation and Authorization Specialist is to obtain signatures from licensed practitioners and patients on required therapy documentationin accordance withestablished procedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.This position assists in obtaining insurance authorizations for therapy and populating approval data in designated system(s) and provides administrativeassistanceand support to the Symbria Rehab management team as needed.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday 8:30 to 5pm CST
- Procure physician signatures on therapyPlan ofCare(POC)physician orders and delayed certification forms per established procedurestimelyand accurately.
- Monitor progress of outstanding documents awaiting signature contacting practitionersvia telephone when necessary.
- Provide feedback toITdepartmentregardingissues or optimization opportunities with the POC software.
- Research physician contact information to populate databases.
- Populate signed POC information intoNetHealth.
- Fax and/or call insurance plans withPOCinformation to obtain authorization totreat fortherapy.
- PopulateNetHealth/Alineawith insurance authorization approval informationasobtained.
- Gatherpatient or responsible party signature or telephone approval on assignment of benefit forms.
- Provide procedural feedback tooptimizedepartmental effectiveness.
- Communicate with Symbria staff clients physicians and any other entity needed to complete assigned duties in a clear and concise manner.
- Any and allotherduties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to translate medical terminology andinterpretingorders for use inauthorizationprocess; minimumoneyear.
- Knowledge of general administrative procedures and experience; minimum two years.
- Ability to exercise outstandingclientservicerelations and professionalverbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with proven abilitytomaintainorganization multi-taskand pay attention to detail while working on several tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word Excel and Outlook; advancedexperience with Microsoft Excel preferred.
