Description

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Document Tech I to join our Support Services team. This position will provide technical and clerical support for a variety of functions performed by the Document Management department. Accuracy in all work is essential to the departments success. Quality audits must be passed on a routine basis. Services provided include the sorting and scanning of inbound mail file preparation following detailed instructions scan prep/scanning services using technical applications meeting all quality standards warehouse support for managing physical records return mail management shipping/receiving services and to provide clerical file support to the Document Management Center of Support Services. Provides reception security and performs mail delivery and shipping and receiving services.

Hourly Salary Range

American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidates qualifications education skill set years of experience and internal equity. $15.00 to $17.50 Hourly Wage Range.

Onsite Requirement

This position requires full-time onsite office work.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical Support to the Document Management center.
  • Provides mail service to the organization. Sorts incoming personal inter department claims and returned mail.
  • Opens mail and prepares Claims batches for scanning adhering to processes and procedures.
  • Prepares files and documents adhering to defined processes for scanning and validation. Accurately tracks and records assigned work.
  • Assists with research and verification during the scanning process. Uses good judgement for self-correction ensuring accuracy.
  • Supports shredding efforts for all scanned documents approved for destruction.
  • Receives & processes file & document requests to authorized personnel when instructed.
  • Meets all productivity goals.
  • Passes all quality audits and skill assessments.
  • Restricts access to systems storage locations system folders or physical files and all documents in process to authorized personnel only.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and propriety business information under all circumstances.
  • Reports unique or problem situations to manager.
  • Other Department Support.
  • Processes returned mail and provides statistical data for reporting.
  • Keeps mail sorting station & mail area clean & organized at all times.
  • Prepares and processes Inter Office Mail.
  • Processes Right Fax Claims and Prepares for Scanning adhering to defined processes.
  • Covers front security desk.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1 year of experience in a clerical support role requiring expert attention to detail preferred.
  • Record managing or scanning experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook required.
  • Some experience with Kofax/AnyDoc preferred.
  • Types 35-40 WPM.
  • Intermediate to expert 10 Key skills.
  • Ability to pass written test.
  • Ability to pass basic math test.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks sitting for 2 to 3 hours at a time.
  • Ability to master new processes master new technical computer applications and perform complex analytical tasks within a reasonable period of time.
  • Experience with machinery or proven ability to learn small machine operations.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with noise and/or constant interruptions.

Ability to speak see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Ability to lift push pull bend crawl and travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to climb stools and ladders. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. overhead lift 25 lbs. unassisted or 50 lbs. assisted by cart.

Normal office setting minor noise frequent interruptions.
