JOB SUMMARY

As part of our recent growth we are seeking a Document Scanning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is expected to organize prepare and scan hardcopy documents into electronic file formats to meet record retention requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review documents for completeness and ensure all required information is present and legible prior to processing.
  • Prepare quality documents for imaging by sorting removing staples and scanning.
  • Operate scanning equipment to digitize paper documents and report equipment issues.
  • Inspect scanned images for clarity and accuracy to established quality standards re-scanning pages when necessary.
  • Shred and dispose of documents in accordance with policies and retention requirements.
  • Index and organize scanned records for accurate retrieval and storage within a SharePoint database.
  • Retrieve records when requested.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge or experience working in an inclusive work environment particularly those persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and basic ability to use office equipment: computer copier scanner keyboard and mouse.
  • Requires clear vision for tasks that involve close-up work.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions in English or American Sign Language.
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read write and communicate in English through verbal communication American Sign Language or adaptive technology

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. Skills Inc. is a self-supporting social enterprise organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We have three lines of business: Aerospace Manufacturing Aerospace Finishing and Business Solutions which operate in 2 locations. Skills Inc. employs over 250 people and our social mission is to train employ and serve persons with disabilities. We accomplish our mission in three ways: direct hire vocational programs and services and serving as a resource to the community.

Salary Range: $18.00-$22.00
