The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Account Technician I at Hill Correctional Center. This position is responsible for preparing and auditing financial documents maintaining the employee time and attendance records serving as facility Clerical Control Officer for property and providing assistance to other Business Office accounting staff. - Prepares and audits complex financial documents including vouchers and invoices.
- Maintains the employee time and attendance records.
- Serves as facility Clerical Control Officer for property.
- Provides assistance to other Business Office accounting staff in the performance of duties.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course OR three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
- Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
- Prefers two (2) years of experience working with accounting techniques.
- Prefers two (2) years of experience working with state or nonstate accounting procedures.
- Prefers two (2) years of experience utilizing office methods and procedures.
- Prefers two (2) years of experience applying principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment.
- Prefers one (1) year of experience preparing timekeeping.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee regardless of position held is prohibited.
- Required to utilize digital technology tools platforms and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency productivity and digital transformation efforts within the department.
