- Plans organizes directs and administers all major functions of the Fox Valley Adult Transitional Center includingprogram development and implementation regarding fiscal programs operations.
- Formulates executes directs and reviews policies procedures rules and regulations for employees andindividuals in custody.
- Reviews controls and directs preparation of facility budget.
- Conducts staff meetings.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Travels to speak before civic groups and organizations to discuss programs of the facility and Department ofCorrections.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably withcourses in law enforcement criminology penology or a related field.
- Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a law enforcement public or private organization a correctional facility or related field.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate validdrivers license.
- Requires possession of a Firearm Ownership Identification card and the ability to qualify with firearms within twelve monthsof start date and annually thereafter in accordance with agency directive and state or federal laws.
- Requires the ability to work overtime and duty administrative office hours.
- Requires the ability to be on-call.
- Requires the use of agency-supplied technology.
- Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee regardless of position held isprohibited.
- This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiringthe occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.)requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretaryof State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement ofEconomic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive EthicsCommission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
- Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result theemployee should be aware that if offered non State employment during state employment or within one year immediatelyafter ending State employment the employee shall prior to accepting any such non- State employment offer notify the Officeof the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.
- Required to utilize digital technology tools platforms and processes in managing and supporting various digitalenhancements for greater efficiency productivity and digital transformation efforts within the department.
