About this Job

The Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) Do Not Call Program operates under LPSC rules and regulations and State and Federal laws governing Do Not Call programs. The incumbent performs administrative support duties associated with the continuing development of administration and enforcement of the LPSC Do Not Call Program. The incumbent will be required to have a working practical knowledge of all facets of these laws pertinent to the operation of the LPSC Do Not Call Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Processes applications and certified funds in conjunction with the solicitor registration process. This process includes reviewing documents for omissions or errors drafting acceptance or rejection letters processing approved solicitor information into the database/documentation systems and setting up related system files.
  • Responds to inquiries verbally and in writing concerning LPSC Do Not Call program functions from both solicitors and consumers. These responses require some interpretation of laws rules and regulations. Available for consumer/solicitor questions via phone fax and email.
  • Analyzes consumer complaints to determine whether consumer is registered and effective under the LPSC Do Not Call program protections. Conducts the initial assessment of facts to determine if evidence submitted in complaint will support allegation that a violation of the program occurred.
  • If the complaints meet the necessary criteria standards collaborates with the Administrative Program Specialist C to prepare subpoenas notices regulatory letters or any other documents to be used in the investigation.
  • Assist the Administrative Program Specialist C in all areas of the LPSC Do Not Call program including ensuring that all program records are maintained in compliance with the Records Retention Schedule.
  • Incumbent will also serve as a backup for receiving and reviewing all mail correspondence packages etc. and routing to the appropriate Staff or Division. Electronically tracks incoming correspondence noting special actions when applicable.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday.
