The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking to hire a Law Enforcement Analyst in the Operations Support Unit of our Law Enforcement Division!

This position is only open to current DMV employees.

The Law Enforcement Analyst serves as a key administrative resource for DMVs Law Enforcement Division supporting a broad range of functions including reporting analysis procurement and case management. Drawing on a strong understanding of division programs operations and established policies and procedures the analyst gathers and organizes data receives and reviews investigation requests and ensures case-related information is routed appropriately. The role also involves direct engagement with customers and citizens requiring a service-oriented approach alongside operational rigor. Given the time-sensitive nature of the work the analyst is expected to exercise independent judgment to meet deadlines and advance the overall mission of the office.

This position also supports several specialized lawenforcement systems and administrative functions. Responsibilities include building and updating Power BI reports and dashboards performing Caliber RMS administrative functions and supporting NIBRS data reporting to ensure accurate and compliant submissions. The analyst processes FOIA and subpoena requests ensuring timely and legally compliant responses. The role also requires working within eVA and BoA Works to support procurement reconciliation and financial tracking for the division.

Because this position supports sensitive lawenforcement operations the selected candidate must obtain VCIN certification within 30 days of appointment to perform required VCINrelated duties and maintain appropriate system access.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge principles and practices of office management and of public administration practices.
Working knowledge of laws governing personal information and identity documents.
Working skill in the use of office equipment and the personal computer including word processing and spreadsheet software and database software.
Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service in an investigation environment;
Ability to understand and apply federal and state laws policies and procedures concerning privacy confidentiality and disclosure of information.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and
Demonstrated ability to interpret data to reach logical conclusions make recommendations work independently and deal courteously and tactfully with co-workers and the public.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of procurement.
