QUALIFICATIONS | ||
Required: Hold valid KY teacher certification in the appropriate subject field or service area Masters degree or non-degree fifth year program Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in the appropriate subject field or service area Have strong presentation and communication skills Worked on a successful team Preferred: Teacher leadership experience Instructional coaching experience Knowledge Of: Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer e-mail and websites. Knowledge and demonstration of sound instructional practice Record-keeping techniques. | ||
JOB DESCRIPTION | ||
Job Summary: Provide support to schools with intervention. Serve as a member of the district Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) team. Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities: Instructional Support Increase the quality and effectiveness of interventions. o Utilize evidence-based practices to help schools design implement monitor and evaluate interventions. o Model targeted instruction to students needing intervention. o Identify successful interventions and coach school teams to refine extend and improve their professional practice around intervention. o Expand teachers use of a variety of resources to improve instruction. Support a tiered system of instructional interventions. o Collaborate with teachers to design formative assessment systems that successfully monitor student learning. o Facilitate and support interventions in the classroom. o Assist in the evaluation of ongoing interventions and make recommendations for change. Leadership Development Work collaboratively with the schools leadership team to design implement and assess school/district Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). Collaborate with the school leadership team to establish a school culture of trust resulting in a positive view of coaching and as a means of improving instruction. Organize and document work monthly. Participate in ongoing personal professional learning experiences. Identify and support the development of teacher leaders through professional growth opportunities. District Improvement Model continuous learning serving as the thought leader in the district focusing on instruction. Ensure that student achievement data drives intervention decisions at the classroom and school level. Assist the district leadership team in the disaggregation of student performance data. Facilitate analysis of student work with teachers focusing on effectiveness of interventions. Design facilitate support and assess job embedded professional learning. | ||
